New Eden Tour Notes From December 2023

Back in December 16, 2023 the corp took a New Eden tour around some signficant systems in the game.

First we went to the largest wormhole system Thera, thanks to the EvE-Scout public bookmarks folder.

Thera had a wormhole connection only 1 jump from our main base in highsec, and there were some decent connections to other systems we planned to visit.

Our second place we visited was B-R5RB and the Titanomachy titan graveyard from the battle of B-R5RB which even has its own Wikipedia page. It was possibly the largest virtual battle fought in gaming history.

I remember there being a highsec incursion during that trip, so we had to travel best speed. Luckily we were all in Rifters and I believe there was one Slasher pilot with us as well.

After viewing the Titan graveyard we headed back to Thera and got one kill on the Thera wormhole. It was a newbro in an exploration frigate, we eventually sent him some ISK and tips on how to fly safer.

Our next stop was the EVE Gate in a system called New Eden in the Genesis region. This is according to game lore the system where a giant wormhole connected Earth and the New Eden galaxy. But it eventually collapsed and stranded people in New Eden.

I thought there might be some gate camps in this area but it was relatively calm, nothing eventful happened.

We then returned back to our highsec base through Thera and called it a night.

Nullsec Ratting Guide For Newbros

Doing combat anomalies or ratting as it's called can be done in nullsec with cheap and expendable ships. In this guide I will show you two T1 cruisers that can be used for ratting and you can make 15-20 million ISK per hour with these ships. Depending on where you live, you may need to use different ship fittings, these fits are optimized for Sansha space. In Sansha space the NPCs or rats as they are called (hence the term ratting) deal EM and thermal damage, and they also have a weakness against EM and thermal damage. So ideally you want a ship that deals either of those damage types to take advantage of their weaknesses, and you'll want to tank against those damage types. But for example in Angel space the NPCs deal explosive and kinetic damage, so those NPCs require different weapons and fits. Ship fittings For semi-AFK ratting I would recommend the Vexor which is a Gallente cruiser, or the Arbitrator which is an Amarrian cruiser. Choose whichever you have better skillpoints...

How To Bookmark Wormhole Signatures (Wormhole Scanning Tips)

This article will just be a primer on how to properly bookmark wormholes in EVE Online. We will mostly be covering wormholes from high security space (highsec) to wormhole space (w-space) in this post as Voyager Syndicate currently bases partly from highsec. Almost never bookmark from the probe scanner results When you bookmark a wormhole from the probe scanner results, you will land 5-10km off the wormhole where the signature is located. Ideally you want to land at zero on the wormhole when you warp to it from your bookmarks, to accomplish this you want to bookmark the wormhole from your overview. So first warp to the scan result, then bookmark the wormhole from your overview. However a fresh wormhole will only open its exit once it has been warped to. So the exception to this rule is that if you are living in a wormhole system and you are rolling wormholes (collapsing them through reaching the mass limit by jumping multiple heavy ships through them), then you can bookmark the new wor...

Rook PVE Fit For Low Class Wormhole Ratting

In this post we're going to take a look at the Rook, which is a Caldari combat recon ship. One of the interesting features of the Rook is that it cannot be detected by directional scanners, which makes it ideal for when you want to be stealthy such as when doing PVE combat sites in wormhole space. Another good feature is that the Rook can blast over 600 DPS with Heavy Assault Missiles, although it is locked to a kinetic damage bonus which doesn't matter in wormholes but if used in lowsec it's recommended to stay in Guristas space. I haven't tried this Rook PVE fit in class 3 wormhole sites, but it could be able to do some of the easier combat sites as well. One thing to consider in wormhole space is the fact that you will most likely use a Mobile Tractor Unit (MTU), and once that is deployed it will be visible on the directional scanner. To reduce your visibility on d-scan, consider dropping the MTU after the first or second waves of sleepers. This way your d-scan visib...
